Came here for the first time over the weekend and I am absolutely in love! For a slightly “fancy” Indian restaurant, I am impressed with the authenticity of the flavours. The cheese inside the naan was generous with a strong aroma of butter and garlic, which was amazing (for me at least). The samosa chat was full of flavour and still on my mind 24 hours later. Also highly recommend the raita, paneer makhani and mango lassi. Often times raita is a relatively simple dish with mild flavours but they’ve seasoned it so well that I could have just had it on its own. Also, never had I had mango lassi in such a fancy glass. Serving size was also quite big for the lassi, so best not gulp down all of it as it will interfere with your dinner! Service was also really good. The waiters were friendly and accommodative. I am already looking forward to my next meal here again. EDIT: ordered take away from them and the food was lovely but I have to say 6.50 for 2 samosas is a complete rip off!

Excellent Indian and Nepalese food! We stumbled across Surya after a day exploring Utrecht and was not disappointed. The staff were all friendly and explained the menu clearly. The north Indian style dishes were hearty and rich and our veg momo starters were also tasty.
I don't like writing negative reviews at all, but the food was just awful. The salad was the only thing that wasn't microwaved.. The Momo (a steamed dumpling) was microwaved and therefore disgusting. I just can't believe that for the price they charge you they don't make anything fresh. They curry was all dried up when it arrived. It had this \film\ on top... it was so salty because it was reheated in a microwave. Please avoid!
We ordered Indian food and it was delicious! We asked for extra spicy though since we're big fans on really spicy food. The service is very friendly.
Overall alright, but sadly had to pay around 10 euros for tap water.. very sad. Staff showed no support etc. Would not recommend anyone to come and pay this “tapwatertax”.
